05 Common questions

About the abrasion resistant ptfe tube.

What is PTFE tube used for?
PTFE tube is used for chemical fluid transfer, instrumentation lines, cable conduit, laboratory tubing, and pharmaceutical process lines. Its combination of chemical inertness, temperature range (−200°C to +260°C), and FDA compliance makes it the default choice for demanding fluid transfer.
What sizes are available?
Stock sizes range from 1.6mm OD (0.8mm ID) to 25.4mm OD (22.2mm ID). Custom OD, ID, and wall thickness are available on request. Metric and inch sizing both stocked.
Can you cut to length?
Yes. We cut to any specified length from stock coils. Minimum cut lengths and lead times depend on the size and quantity — contact us for specifics.
Is PTFE tube food and pharma safe?
Yes. Our natural PTFE tube is FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 compliant and suitable for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical contact. Certificate of Compliance is issued on request.
How does PTFE tube compare to Teflon tube?
Teflon is a DuPont brand name for PTFE — the same material. Our tubes are manufactured to the same ASTM D3295 / SAE AS5440 standards as branded Teflon tubing and are direct drop-in replacements at competitive pricing.
