### About PTFE Abrasion Resistant Tube

The PTFE Abrasion Resistant Tube is a specialised PTFE tube that resists surface wear and tear caused by constant rubbing or contact with other materials, without giving up any of PTFE's chemical inertness. It is hydrophobic in nature — averse to wetting — and non-reactive: even in contact with corrosive or highly reactive chemicals it will not react or degrade. Hydrofluoric acid, which rapidly degrades glass containers, can be transmitted through it with no risk of corrosion or reaction.

Polytetrafluoroethylene — abbreviated as PTFE and more commonly known as Teflon — is a material extensively used in the manufacture of tubes across the manufacturing and industrial sectors. Its resistance to breakage, extreme temperatures on both ends of the Celsius scale, and near-universal chemical resistance make it the ideal choice in global markets. The abrasion resistant variant is specified where fluid needs to be transferred from one point to another efficiently and safely in a run that also has to survive mechanical wear.
